Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in special education, especially with elementary-aged students, preferred
• Knowledge of Life Skills programs and instruction for students with diverse abilities
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Comfortable collaborating with teachers, support staff, and families

Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver individualized instruction for elementary students in Life Skills programs
• Modify curriculum and teaching methods to suit student needs
• Prepare, maintain, and monitor IEPs, documenting student progress
• Work closely with paraprofessionals, therapists, and district specialists
• Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment that encourages student independence
• Engage in regular communication with parents and caregivers regarding student achievements and goals
