The position begins August 21st and focuses on delivering impactful instruction and care to a high school caseload. Working Monday through Friday, from 7:30am to 4:00pm, you’ll have the structure you need to develop student relationships and design individualized learning experiences.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid LBS1 licensure for grades 9-12 in Illinois
- Experience or strong interest in working with high school special education populations
- Commitment to fostering inclusive, supportive, and engaging classroom environments
- Ability to collaborate with fellow teachers, support staff, and families
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students on your caseload, adapting lessons to meet IEP goals and individual needs
- Assess and document student progress, maintaining accurate, up-to-date records
- Collaborate with colleagues and related service providers to implement IEPs
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and strategies for success
- Contribute to a positive school culture and provide leadership in special education best practices
