Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting middle school students in an Intensive Communications Program within a collaborative, specialized setting. This full-time contract role (35 hours per week) spans from August 14th through November 1st, with the potential for extension. The classroom focuses on individuals with Autism and Intellectual Disability, serving a group of nine students who thrive on a life skills-centered curriculum. Two dedicated paraprofessionals support daily classroom activities and foster a positive learning environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Active LBS1 endorsement and Professional Educator License (PEL) required
- Experience working with students in autism or functional skills programs highly preferred
- Familiarity with functional and life skills curriculum, including Unique Learning
- Effective in a team-based setting, collaborating with paraprofessionals and specialists
- Capable of adapting instruction to meet individual student needs
- Strong communication skills with a commitment to individualized education plans
