A dynamic elementary school environment near Orland Park, IL is offering a rewarding contract opportunity for a resource-focused Special Education Teacher. This role covers PK-4th grade, collaborating with a team of two fellow educators to provide specialized push-in and pull-out instruction. You'll have the chance to connect with students across the early grade spectrum, but will focus your expertise on one or two grade-level populations within this range.

In this position, you can look forward to a consistent Monday–Friday schedule, working 37.5 hours each week. Your responsibilities will include developing and adapting learning activities, building relationships with students and their families, and supporting a positive, inclusive classroom environment.

What we are seeking:

  • Valid Illinois PEL license with LBS1 endorsement (covering at least PreK-5th grade)
  • Experience as a Special Education Teacher in PK–5 settings
  • Confidence teaching both Resource Room and push-in/pull-out models
  • Commitment to collaborating with general education and SPED colleagues
  • Strong communication skills and adaptability with diverse groups of learners

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and small group instruction to students in designated grades
  • Create and implement IEPs, monitoring student progress
  • Foster inclusion and differentiation in both mainstream and special education settings
  • Participate actively in team meetings and parent communications
  • Share teaching duties and caseload responsibilities with fellow resource teachers

The hourly rate for this position is between $40 and $50, based on experience, degree, and other qualifying factors.
