Step into a meaningful contract opportunity supporting 7th grade students as a Special Education Teacher in a collaborative, co-taught environment. This position is designed for someone passionate about inclusive education and committed to helping students reach their fullest potential, starting as soon as possible and running through the end of the school year.
You’ll work alongside a general education teacher using the push-in model, focusing on a small caseload of 10 students—5 in ELA and 5 in Math—each with unique reading and/or math IEP goals. All students are fully integrated with their peers during academics, specials, lunch, and recess, creating a vibrant, supportive atmosphere.
What we’re seeking:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification (LBS1 or equivalent)
- Experience or strong interest in co-teaching and the push-in model
- Skill in developing, implementing, and monitoring IEPs—especially for reading and math
- Ability to build trusting relationships with students, families, and colleagues
- Excellent collaboration skills, paired with flexibility and creativity in problem-solving
- Previous experience at the middle school level is a plus
Key responsibilities:
- Partner with general education teachers to deliver differentiated, standards-based instruction in ELA and Math
- Support and track progress toward IEP goals, ensuring each learner’s needs are met
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and strategies
- Participate actively in IEP meetings, data collection, and planning activities
- Foster an inclusive, encouraging classroom culture for all students
Role highlights:
- Contract role (ASAP – EOY) with a consistent 32.75-hour work week
- Daily schedule of 8:00 AM to 3:15 PM, including lunch and prep/planning periods
