A rewarding contract opportunity is available for experienced Special Education Teachers seeking to make a positive difference in the lives of students. Two positions are currently open: one in an elementary self-contained classroom (K-2, mild intervention) and one at the middle school level (intense interventions). The classrooms are structured with manageable class sizes—8-10 students in the elementary room and 8 students in the middle school room—allowing for personalized instruction and genuine relationship building.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher licensure required
- Previous experience with self-contained classrooms is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to adapt curriculum to meet individual student needs
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Compassion, patience, and commitment to inclusive educational practices
- Effective communication with students, families, and interdisciplinary team members
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
- Deliver differentiated lessons and instructional strategies for a range of abilities
- Foster a safe, engaging, and supportive classroom environment
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional plans accordingly
- Collaborate with support staff and administrators to develop goals and interventions
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices
