Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher working with students with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities. Your teaching day will run Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Enjoy predictable hours while collaborating with a dedicated team of educators in a supportive and inclusive environment. You’ll be responsible for a manageable caseload of about nine students, ensuring you have the time and capacity to give every child the individualized attention they deserve.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Minnesota Teaching Certification (Tier 3 or 4 required)
  • Experience as a Special Education Teacher, particularly with students requiring DCD services
  • Ability to create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with parents and multidisciplinary teams
  • Positive, adaptive approach to classroom management and student support
  • Must submit certification and resume for consideration

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and academic support tailored to students with developmental cognitive disabilities
  • Develop, update, and monitor IEP goals in collaboration with families and support staff
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment
  • Maintain detailed records of student progress and participate in team meetings as needed
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to fit individual student needs
