Special Education Teacher - Osseo, MN

Make a meaningful difference supporting students with developmental cognitive disabilities as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming academic year. This contract position is onsite, serving elementary students in a dedicated classroom environment. The school campus is located near Osseo, MN, and is seeking a compassionate professional who thrives in a collaborative, supportive setting.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Minnesota Teaching Certification (Tier 3 or Tier 4 required); please ensure certification and resume are attached for consideration
• Prior experience in special education, particularly with students with developmental cognitive disabilities (DCD), preferred
• Adept at developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and tailoring instruction to support diverse learning needs
• Strong communication skills for working with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Organizational skills to manage documentation and efficiently structure the school day

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the DCD classroom teacher for students (roughly nine) with developmental cognitive disabilities
• Design, modify, and deliver lesson plans in compliance with IEPs and educational standards
• Collaborate with support staff, therapists, and administration to foster an inclusive learning environment
• Monitor and assess student progress, adapting strategies as needed
• Maintain required records and documentation for compliance with local and state regulations
• Communicate regularly with families to promote student growth and involvement

This full-time contract covers approximately 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (with a 30-minute unpaid lunch).
