As a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming academic year, you will work with a Setting 4 caseload, focusing on students presenting the most significant behavioral and developmental challenges. Qualifications:
- Hold a valid Minnesota Special Education Teacher license (Tier 3 or Tier 4 only)
- Proven experience working with Setting 4, or similar high-needs educational environments
- Background in developing and implementing IEPs for students with significant behavioral and developmental challenges
- Strong understanding of positive behavioral support, crisis intervention, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Comfortable supporting students across the K-12 spectrum
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, adapting instruction to meet individual student goals
- Provide direct instruction using evidence-based strategies tailored for complex behavioral and cognitive needs
- Partner closely with support staff, therapists, and families to foster a safe and productive learning environment
- Employ crisis-prevention and de-escalation techniques as needed
- Maintain detailed documentation and participate in required meetings and assessments
