Special Education Teacher - Ouray, CO

Key Qualifications:

• Active Special Education Teaching Certification (state or reciprocal)
• Experience working with varied special education needs (mild/moderate/severe)
• Expertise in creating and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

• Familiarity with differentiated instruction and behavior intervention strategies
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing classroom environments

Responsibilities:

• Deliver personalized instruction to students with diverse exceptionalities across three separate learning needs
• Assess, plan, and adapt lessons based on IEP goals and academic standards
• Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide tailored supports and accommodations
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as needed
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student achievements and challenges
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging classroom culture
• Ensure compliance with all state and federal special education regulations
