Desired Qualifications:
- Valid special education teaching license/certification (or eligibility for certification)
- Proven experience working with middle school students and diverse learning needs
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
- Ability to differentiate instruction and classroom management strategies
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
- Familiarity with various disabilities and evidence-based interventions
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction to students with exceptionalities in grades 6-8
- Develop, write, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student strengths and needs
- Track student progress through data collection and ongoing assessment
- Collaborate closely with general education staff, support specialists, and families to create inclusive learning environments
- Provide consultation and classroom support to ensure accommodations and modifications are effective
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with school, district, and legal guidelines
