This opportunity offers a dynamic, itinerant assignment covering various private parochial and partner school campuses in the Kansas City area from August 2026 through May 2027. You’ll make a significant difference as you travel between locations, building meaningful relationships with both students and staff, while tailoring your expertise to diverse educational settings.
Qualifications:
- Active Kansas K-12 teaching license in Special Education (required)
- Prior experience in special education settings (preferred)
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organization skills
- Ability to adapt to multiple school environments and student needs
- Reliable transportation to travel between assigned schools and campuses
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support services to students with special needs in accordance with their IEPs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and families to create the best learning outcomes
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, provide input into IEP development, and implement individualized goals
- Maintain clear and timely documentation on student progress and compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Adapt lesson plans and teaching strategies to ensure inclusion and accommodate diverse learning needs across various schools
- Serve as a resource and advocate for students and parents within each educational community
