Special Education Teacher in Overland Park, KS

With a manageable caseload of just 8 students across grades 6 through 8, you’ll have the time and resources needed to provide personalized instruction and make a lasting impact.

What We’re Seeking:

• Active Kansas licensure in low incidence special education or unified licensure (required)
• Experience in or enthusiasm for working with students in grades 6–8 who have varied learning and behavioral needs
• Strong understanding of IEP development, progress monitoring, and evidence-based teaching practices
• Excellent communication skills for engaging students, collaborating with families, and working alongside other professionals
• Flexibility, compassion, and commitment to supporting each student’s growth

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction aligned with each student’s IEP, adapting materials and strategies to individual needs
• Implement behavior support plans and monitor student progress regularly
• Collaborate with related service providers, paraprofessionals, and general education staff
• Communicate proactively with students’ families and participate in IEP meetings
• Cultivate a classroom environment that is supportive, inclusive, and structured to maximize student learning
