The selected candidate will work 30 hours weekly in a supportive educational environment. You’ll play a crucial part in helping students navigate academic challenges, develop social skills, and achieve individualized goals through specialized instruction and collaboration with colleagues.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Alabama Special Education Teaching License required
- Experience with elementary resource classrooms strongly preferred
- Skilled in adapting curriculum and delivering differentiated instruction
- Ability to effectively manage a caseload of students in grades 4-6
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with staff and families
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning atmosphere
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for each student on your caseload
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet diverse learning needs
- Work closely with general education teachers, aides, and specialists to coordinate support
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
- Participate in IEP meetings and parent-teacher conferences
- Maintain organized records and ensure compliance with all special education regulations
