The role offers a consistent weekday schedule with a 35-minute unpaid lunch/break, providing a great work-life balance.

The selected candidate will work 30 hours weekly in a supportive educational environment. You’ll play a crucial part in helping students navigate academic challenges, develop social skills, and achieve individualized goals through specialized instruction and collaboration with colleagues.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Alabama Special Education Teaching License required
  • Experience with elementary resource classrooms strongly preferred
  • Skilled in adapting curriculum and delivering differentiated instruction
  • Ability to effectively manage a caseload of students in grades 4-6
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration with staff and families
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning atmosphere

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for each student on your caseload
  • Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet diverse learning needs
  • Work closely with general education teachers, aides, and specialists to coordinate support
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
  • Participate in IEP meetings and parent-teacher conferences
  • Maintain organized records and ensure compliance with all special education regulations
