This contract position offers a unique chance to influence middle school learners within self-contained classrooms during the 2026–2027 school year, running from August 13, 2026 through June 3, 2027. Work a consistent full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, 7:15am to 3:15pm, providing structure and balance to your professional life.
You'll partner with a dedicated team to support a caseload of 12 students with mild to moderate needs, primarily within self-contained middle school classrooms. Your expertise and compassion will have a direct impact on the lives of exceptional learners.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current licensure or certification in Special Education (EC SPED) or eligibility to obtain during the contract period
- Experience teaching or working with students in middle school self-contained or special education settings
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Ability to manage a classroom environment that encourages growth and independence
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with students, staff, and families
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver individualized lesson plans and adaptive instruction
- Carry out IEPs and maintain all required documentation
- Foster a supportive and structured classroom environment
- Employ a variety of strategies to meet diverse learning styles
- Collaborate regularly with general educators, therapists, and support staff
