Step into a pivotal role supporting students with special needs in a vibrant educational community near Oxford, NC. This full-time contract opportunity runs from August 13, 2026, through June 3, 2027, offering the chance to make a significant impact during the 26/27 academic year. Working Monday through Friday from 7:15am to 3:15pm (37.5 hours/week), you will engage with both middle and high school students across a variety of self-contained and inclusion settings.

This assignment includes a caseload of approximately 12 students with mild to moderate exceptional needs in a self-contained classroom, as well as support roles in middle and high school inclusion settings. You’ll also serve a small group of middle school students at a neighboring STEM school, encouraging cross-campus collaboration.

Ideal candidates will offer the following:

  • Special Education Teacher certification
  • Demonstrated experience with individualized instruction in a resource or inclusion environment
  • Strong classroom management and behavioral intervention skills
  • Proven ability to implement and develop IEPs effectively
  • Collaborative approach when working with teachers, support staff, and families
  • Comfort with diverse student populations and learning styles
  • Background in English or ELS support (preferred for inclusion setting, but not required)

In this dynamic role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating inclusive and adaptive learning environments
  • Implementing effective instructional strategies for students with a range of academic needs
  • Managing and prioritizing multiple caseloads, including supporting middle schoolers at a STEM program
  • Partnering with staff to develop and carry out IEPs
