Special Education Teacher in Oxford, NC

Step into an impactful role supporting middle school students as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 academic year. This full-time contract opportunity places you at the heart of making a difference, guiding and educating students with mild to moderate needs in a self-contained classroom setting. Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid state certification in Special Education (or eligibility to obtain)
• Experience with middle school-aged students preferred
• Strong ability to develop and implement IEPs
• Skilled in supporting students with mild to moderate disabilities in self-contained classrooms
• Expertise with a variety of instructional strategies and accommodations
• Compassion, adaptability, and excellent organizational skills

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction and support to a caseload of approximately 12 students
• Collaborate with paraprofessional staff, general educators, and specialists
• Write and maintain compliant, timely IEPs and progress reports
• Monitor progress and adjust strategies to meet unique student needs
• Provide a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
• Participate actively in team meetings, parent communications, and professional development
• Adhere to all district and state policies regarding special education services
