You'll be supporting a full-time, full school year caseload of approximately 25 K-8 students in an inclusive setting. Many students are nonverbal, giving you the chance to make a deep impact using innovative interventions and communication strategies.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification/license (state eligibility required)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field
- Experience with K-8 grade levels and a range of needs, particularly with inclusion and nonverbal students
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Enthusiasm for adapting to new environments and teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and support to students in an inclusive K-8 setting
- Develop and update IEPs, maintain detailed records of student progress
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service staff, and families
- Implement communication supports and alternative strategies for nonverbal students
- Foster a positive, adaptive, and respectful classroom climate
