Special Education Teacher in Painted Post, NY

As either a Teacher’s Assistant or a long-term substitute, you’ll play an integral part in fostering student growth and engagement every day.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid New York State teaching license
• Endorsement for High School and current required certifications for an ED classroom
• Previous experience working within a high school special education setting preferred
• Effective communication and classroom management skills
• Capable of engaging and motivating students with diverse learning needs

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver and adapt curriculum for 11th and 12th grade students within an ED classroom as assigned
• Collaborate with school staff, families, and ancillary services to support student progress
• Monitor student development, providing regular feedback and maintaining necessary documentation
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture that supports both academic and personal growth
• Uphold all school, district, and regulatory standards for student safety and education quality
• Maintain strong classroom leadership in either a long-term sub or Teacher’s Assistant capacity
