Step into a pivotal role guiding young women with special needs as they transition into adulthood. This contract opportunity focuses on supporting female students aged 18-21 who have aged out of traditional school settings and still have unmet IEP goals. The aim is to provide meaningful education and skills instruction in a small-program environment, making a tangible difference in students’ lives.

This position offers 20-25 hours per week, with program hours from 10:00am to 2:00pm and flexibility to begin as early as 9:30am and end by 2:30pm for preparation and wrap-up. The start date is set for August or September, in time for the new academic cycle. The school is looking for a dedicated, licensed Special Education Teacher to take on a long-term commitment as a key leader, ensuring compliance and high-quality educational support.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Current teaching license in Special Education required
  • Experience working with transition-aged students (16+), preferred
  • Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and tracking
  • Ability to foster independence and life skills in young adults
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities
  • Commitment to a supportive and inclusive learning environment

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily instruction and activities for a small group of 18-21-year-old female students
  • Assess and address each student’s unmet IEP goals through individualized plans
  • Document progress, update IEPs, and communicate regularly with program staff and families
  • Foster a positive, safe environment that encourages student independence and social growth
  • Collaborate with related service providers and local agencies when needed
