Special Education Teacher in Parachute, CO

Two full-time Special Education Teacher contract positions are available—each tailored to students with mild to moderate needs at either the middle school (grades 6–8) or high school (grades 9–12) levels. Working onsite, you’ll foster academic and personal success for a caseload of 25–30 students, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in a supportive school community.

What we’re looking for:

• Active Colorado Teaching License
• SPED Endorsement required
• Experience supporting students with mild/moderate special education needs
• Willingness to provide assistance with toileting or personal care if needed
• Ability to create inclusive, encouraging classroom experiences
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and modify individualized education programs (IEPs) for assigned students
• Deliver specialized instruction and adapt curriculum to support learning goals
• Implement positive behavioral strategies and monitor student progress
• Work closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families
• Maintain detailed records in compliance with state and federal regulations
• Contribute to a caring environment where every student’s voice is valued
• Offer guidance and support for students’ social-emotional and academic needs
