Special Education Teacher | Parksley, Virginia

A highly regarded school district near Parksley, VA, is seeking to fill four full-time positions for the upcoming 26/27 school year. This contract role offers the chance to make a difference in the lives of elementary and middle school students.

Available positions:

• 2 Elementary Inclusion (Grades K-5)
• 1 Elementary Self-Contained (Grades K-5)
• 1 Middle School Inclusion (Grades 6-8)

All roles are full-time, with 37.5 hours per week and dedicated para support provided to assist with classroom success.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teaching certification (or eligibility for certification in Virginia)
• Previous experience working in special education settings preferred
• Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with students, families, and staff

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and implement individualized educational programs (IEPs) tailored to students' needs
• Foster an inclusive, engaging, and supportive classroom environment
• Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff
• Adapt instructional materials and strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with families
