Special Education Teacher in Parma, MI

Key Experience & Credentials:

• Active Michigan teaching certification in Special Education is REQUIRED (submit a screenshot of your current license).
• Experience working with high school students, particularly those with cognitive impairments, is highly valued.
• Proven ability to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong classroom management skills and effective communication abilities.
• Commitment to fostering a supportive, positive learning environment.

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction in accordance with IEPs for high school students with cognitive impairments.
• Develop and adapt lesson plans and curriculum materials to meet individual needs.
• Monitor student progress, maintain records, and participate in IEP meetings.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, therapists, and other specialists.
• Offer guidance and support to students, promoting key life and academic skills.
• Engage with families and help facilitate their involvement in the education process.
