Step into a pivotal role supporting middle school students in a dynamic learning environment close to Pascoag, RI. This contract position offers the opportunity to provide specialized educational guidance to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders, combining both push-in inclusion settings and targeted pull-out sessions. The daily schedule runs from 7:30am to 2:15pm, providing a steady routine while making a meaningful difference in students’ lives.

Ideal candidates will be certified in Special Education and possess a strong commitment to inclusive academic support. Candidates with an ESL endorsement are preferred, given the importance of supporting multilingual learners (MLLs) in this role. You’ll work closely with general education teachers to facilitate academic progress for students with diverse learning needs, ensuring equitable access to curriculum and educational growth.

Qualifications:

  • Special Education certification required
  • ESL endorsement highly desirable
  • Experience with middle school grade levels, particularly 6th through 8th grade
  • Familiarity with push-in inclusion models and small-group or individualized instruction
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies for students with varying abilities and language backgrounds

Responsibilities:

  • Provide push-in inclusion support within middle school academic classrooms
  • Design and implement pull-out sessions for academic and MLL-focused intervention
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to accommodate individual learning plans
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
  • Employ differentiated instructional practices to meet wide-ranging student needs
  • Foster a supportive, positive learning atmosphere for all students
