Bring your expertise as a Special Education professional to an impactful contract opportunity supporting students' academic and developmental success. This full-time position offers 40 hours per week, with daily hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Occasional later afternoons (until 4:30 p.m.) may be required during the first six weeks, while Fridays sometimes allow for earlier release times.
In this role, you will lead the charge in educational evaluations and oversee a caseload of 30-40 students, making a direct difference in their educational journey. Your specialized knowledge as a Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant is essential, as your insights and expertise will play a crucial part in tailoring learning experiences for each child.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid NJ Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant Certification (required)
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher or in a similar consultative capacity within school settings
- Comfort with conducting comprehensive educational evaluations and assessments
- Strong organizational skills for managing caseloads and documentation
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and students
Primary Responsibilities:
- Complete thorough educational evaluations for students, utilizing a variety of assessment tools
- Manage and support a caseload of 30-40 students, ensuring individualized education plans (IEPs) are followed
- Conduct additional evaluations as needed, ensuring compliance with district and state requirements
- Work closely with school staff and families to implement best practices and support student growth
- Maintain accurate and confidential records for all assigned students
