Special Education Teacher in Paterson, NJ

This is a full-time, onsite opportunity with a contract running from ASAP through June 23, 2027, and a weekly commitment of 32.5 hours. You’ll work directly with students, guiding their academic and social growth within a supportive, collaborative community. Multiple caseload options are available to suit your expertise, including:

• Learning Disabilities for Elementary (K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th grades)
• Elementary Autism (6-8 years old)
• Elementary Behavioral Disabilities (K-2nd)
• Middle School MCI (with TOH, K-8 Students with Disabilities, or Subject Certifications)
• Middle School Autism (with TOH, K-8 Students with Disabilities, or Subject Certifications)

Ideal candidates bring the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
• Valid Standard Teacher Certificate
• Endorsement aligned to your area(s) of instruction (e.g., Students with Disabilities, Math, History, Autism, etc.)

In this role, you’ll:

• Design and deliver engaging, standards-based lesson plans following the New Jersey Student Learning Standards and district curriculum
• Set clear, measurable objectives and utilize appropriate assessment methods for each student
• Foster collaboration by working closely with administrators, fellow teachers, and support staff toward district-wide objectives
• Participate actively in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and ongoing collaborative planning
