Required Background and Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Current and valid South Carolina Department of Education teaching license in a special education area (such as Learning Disabilities, Multi-categorical, or Emotional Disabilities)
- Demonstrated experience working with students with disabilities in educational settings is highly valued
- Adaptability and a collaborative mindset for integrating individual student needs
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in alignment with state and federal regulations
- Foster a nurturing and structured classroom where all students can thrive
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, administrators, and support staff to deliver targeted instruction and accommodate various learning styles
- Maintain clear and timely documentation of student progress and required compliance paperwork
- Adjust teaching strategies to meet the emotional and academic needs of your assigned caseload
- Communicate frequently with families and guardians to ensure continuity of support
This position follows the academic calendar with tentative dates from August 4, 2026, to May 27, 2027, offering approximately 37.5 hours per week. Location and caseload details will be provided during the placement process.
