This full-time contract position spans the 2026-27 academic year, following the standard school calendar. You’ll work in a collaborative classroom setting alongside three dedicated instructional assistants, fostering a supportive environment for a small caseload of 11 students who benefit from customized learning approaches rather than standard assessments.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • Active teaching license issued by the South Carolina Department of Education in a special education area such as Learning Disabilities, Multi-categorical, or Emotional Disabilities
  • Prior experience or strong interest in teaching students with significant needs in grades 3-5
  • Skilled in differentiated instruction and adapting curriculum to meet various learning requirements
  • Collaborative spirit to coordinate with instructional assistants and other school professionals
  • Effective communicator with students, families, and staff

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement individualized lesson plans for a small caseload
  • Collaborate daily with instructional assistants to support student learning and behavioral goals
  • Develop and maintain IEPs, accurately documenting student progress
  • Foster an inclusive and encouraging environment, promoting student growth
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and staff meetings as required
