Special Education Teacher | Pawtucket, Rhode Island

Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting elementary school students with Autism and other developmental disabilities for the 2024-2025 academic year. This full-time, onsite contract opportunity will enable you to nurture growth and provide quality education for students who thrive with specialized support.

You’ll work in classrooms with 8-12 students each, promoting individualized learning and contributing to a collaborative educational environment. If you are enthusiastic about helping differently-abled learners reach their best potential, this could be the perfect role for you.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience working with elementary-aged students, preferably those diagnosed with Autism or other developmental disabilities
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Comfortable working onsite for the duration of the school year

Key Responsibilities:

• Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment for students
• Design and implement tailored lesson plans that accommodate varying learning styles and abilities
• Collaborate with support staff, related service providers, and families to ensure consistent progress
• Use data-driven methods to monitor student growth and adjust interventions as needed
• Participate in IEP meetings and maintain accurate records in compliance with educational guidelines
