Special Education Teacher in Pawtucket, RI

There are three full-time openings for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year, all onsite, where you’ll become a key member of a collaborative team serving classrooms of 8-12 students.

Qualifications and Experience

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience working with students with Autism and developmental disabilities is strongly preferred
• Ability to create inclusive, individualized education plans
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Team-oriented approach with the ability to collaborate with fellow educators, therapists, and families
• Commitment to fostering growth, independence, and academic progress

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized instructional plans for K-5 students
• Utilize adaptive teaching methods and materials tailored to each learner’s needs
• Foster a safe, nurturing classroom with clear routines and positive reinforcement
• Track and report student progress, adapting instruction as needed
• Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams
• Communicate regularly with families to support each student's success
• Maintain compliance with all policies and special education requirements
