Special Education Teacher | Pawtucket, Rhode Island

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching credentials
• Experience working in a self-contained classroom setting
• Familiarity with instructional strategies for middle and high school students
• Ability to modify curriculum and implement IEPs effectively
• Strong communication and classroom management skills
• A collaborative spirit, working closely with paraprofessionals and other educators

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual student needs
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation for IEPs, assessments, and progress monitoring
• Foster a supportive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
• Collaborate with paras, related service personnel, and families to maximize student outcomes
• Guide and supervise classroom paras in daily routines and instructional support
• Provide a safe, predictable space that encourages student participation and growth
