Special Education Teacher - Pawtucket, Rhode Island

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience working with 4th-8th grade students, preferably in a resource room or pull-out service model
• Strong ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and school personnel

Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction to small groups or individual students in grades 4-8 according to their IEPs
• Collaborate with general education teachers to modify curriculum and ensure student success within the school’s academic framework
• Conduct ongoing assessment and progress monitoring to adjust interventions as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with all state and federal special education regulations
• Communicate regularly with parents and participate in IEP meetings as a key advocate for student needs
• Encourage student independence and confidence by utilizing a strengths-based, supportive approach
