Special Education Teacher in Pawtucket, RI

This full-time contract position offers an opportunity to work with ages 9-10, providing direct instruction and building an inclusive environment that fosters growth and independence.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification.
• Experience working with elementary-age students, particularly with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
• Deep understanding of best practices in individualized education planning (IEPs), behavioral interventions, and differentiated instruction.
• Patience, compassion, and strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with students, families, and colleagues.
• Ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs in a self-contained setting.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans tailored to individual learning goals.
• Implement IEPs and monitor student progress, maintaining detailed records and documentation.
• Utilize evidence-based strategies and supports to encourage communication, social skills, and academic growth.
• Collaborate with fellow educators, related service providers, and parents to enhance student achievement.
• Create a structured and supportive classroom that promotes positive behaviors and fosters independence.
