Special Education Teacher | Pawtucket, Rhode Island

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Demonstrated experience working with elementary-aged children, particularly in K-2 settings
• Skilled in supporting students with social/emotional needs
• Comfortable adapting instructional strategies for a diverse caseload
• Effective communicator with students, families, and colleagues
• Ability to develop and implement IEPs and progress monitoring tools
• Familiarity with hybrid teaching models, including resource and pull-out interventions, is a plus
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, encouraging classroom community

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver differentiated instruction and targeted interventions for students with varying needs
• Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom atmosphere that supports academic and emotional growth
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to maximize each child’s success
• Assess student progress and adapt instructional methods as needed
• Manage a selective caseload, providing both resource room services and pull-in/pull-out support for high-need students
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student goal setting
• Support behavioral and emotional regulation using evidence-based strategies
