Make a meaningful impact this school year by supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic learning environment. This contract opportunity offers two available roles with the chance to collaborate alongside passionate educators and dedicated staff. Orientation week begins August 24th, with students returning August 27th, giving you time to get to know your new team and classroom.

We’re seeking educators skilled in both push-in and push-out instruction models, dedicated to serving diverse learners based on their unique IEP goals. Depending on your interest and experience, you will work with either a Lower School (PreK–2nd grade) or Middle School (6th–8th grade) caseload, averaging between 12-17 students.

Available Positions:

  • Lower School (PreK–2nd): 7:30am–3:00pm schedule
  • Middle School (6th–8th): 8:00am–4:00pm schedule

Qualifications:

  • Valid Rhode Island Special Education Teaching License is required
  • Experience supporting students with varying exceptionalities
  • Skillful in adapting instruction and collaborating with classroom teachers
  • Strong communication, organization, and team-building abilities
  • Enthusiasm for fostering inclusive, supportive, and engaging classroom communities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative support to students through push-in/push-out instruction
  • Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with student IEPs
  • Track student progress, complete necessary documentation, and participate in IEP meetings
  • Foster a positive, encouraging environment in partnership with general education teachers and support staff
  • Communicate regularly with families and staff regarding student successes and strategies
