This contract opportunity runs through June 18, 2027, offering the chance to make a significant impact throughout the school year. You’ll work 35 hours per week in a dedicated, self-contained environment, helping students develop the skills they need for both academic and personal growth.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • Active Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) Special Education license for Secondary grade levels
  • Background in working with students experiencing Emotional Behavioral Disorders (EBD) or significant behavioral challenges
  • Proficiency with or willingness to complete Rhode Island’s Structured Literacy requirement within one year
  • Strong skills in classroom management, behavior intervention, and individualized instruction
  • Compassion, cultural awareness, and an adaptable mindset
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive, secure learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and small-group instruction in a self-contained high school classroom setting
  • Develop and implement IEPs tailored to meet each student’s unique needs and abilities
  • Employ evidence-based behavioral and instructional strategies to encourage skill acquisition and positive growth
  • Collaborate closely with general educators, related service providers, and families to ensure a holistic support network for each student
  • Monitor progress and provide regular, thorough documentation in compliance with school and State regulations
