Take your passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs to the next level in a rewarding contract role serving as a Special Education Teacher in a middle school sub separate program. This full-time opportunity focuses on guiding 7th and 8th grade students diagnosed with autism and/or intellectual delays in an environment that values dedication, patience, and innovative teaching approaches. The position runs for the school year with set hours from 7:15 AM to 2:15 PM.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Licensure in Special Education or eligibility to obtain relevant certification.
- Previous experience or strong interest in teaching students with autism and/or intellectual delays at the middle school level.
- Familiarity with IEP development, progress monitoring, and data-driven instruction.
- Strong collaboration skills for working effectively with a team of teachers, specialists, and paraprofessionals.
- Commitment to fostering a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small group instruction aligned to each student’s IEP goals.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to students' unique strengths and learning styles.
- Monitor student progress, documenting data and adjusting strategies as needed.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, service providers, and family members to ensure holistic student support.
- Employ behavior management strategies and positive supports to encourage student growth and independence.
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and ongoing communication with stakeholders.
