This contract opportunity offers two unique positions: one focused on inclusion at the elementary level, and two centered on a self-contained setting at the intermediate level.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Alabama SPED licensure (verification available through the Alabama teaching certification website)
• Certification in K-6 for the inclusion role; certification in 6-12 or K-6 for self-contained and inclusion considered
• Previous experience working with students with diverse learning needs is preferred
• Commitment to creating a nurturing, student-centered learning environment
• Strong collaboration and communication skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student goals
• Adapt and differentiate instruction to accommodate various learning styles and abilities
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families
• Provide direct instruction in inclusive and/or self-contained settings, depending on assignment
• Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation
• Employ evidence-based instructional strategies and positive behavior interventions
