Special Education Teacher - Pelham, Alabama

Make an immediate impact as a Special Education Teacher, supporting students in grades K-3 in a rewarding, full-time contract position. You’ll have the opportunity to work with a small group of 7 self-contained students and provide targeted pull-out support for 2 additional students, creating a personalized and inclusive learning environment. Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field
• Valid teaching certification in Special Education
• Experience working with elementary-aged students, especially in K-3 settings
• Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, staff, and administration
• Ability to develop differentiated lessons tailored to diverse learning needs
• Previous contract, travel school, or resource room experience is a plus

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Deliver instruction to a dedicated self-contained classroom of seven students, adapting lessons for individual abilities
• Provide pull-out services for two students, focusing on their specific academic and behavioral goals
• Maintain compliance with all IEP documentation and legal requirements
• Assess and track student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to foster student success
• Communicate proactively with parents regarding goals, progress, and strategies
• Create a nurturing and structured classroom environment conducive to learning and growth
