This contract-based opportunity calls for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to work with middle and high school students (grades 6–12) in a combined program focused on both special education and transitional support. The environment is specially designed outside traditional district space, fostering a supportive atmosphere for up to 56 students and enabling access to innovative services alongside district partners.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification for New Jersey
  • Experience teaching students with a range of academic, behavioral, and social/emotional needs
  • Prior work with middle and high school learners strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and progress monitoring
  • Commitment to supporting academic and life skills, empowering students toward post-school success
  • Collaborative mindset to work alongside school districts and support professionals

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging, compliant lesson plans tailored to IEP goals for a diverse student population
  • Collaborate with support staff, specialists, and district representatives to ensure comprehensive educational experiences
  • Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that nurtures growth and independence
  • Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies to help every learner thrive
  • Communicate regularly with families and district partners about student successes and needs
