Qualifications and Desired Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field
  • Active Special Education Teacher certification
  • Experience working with middle and high school students with diverse exceptionalities
  • Proven ability to design and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Flexibility, creativity, and resilience in adapting instruction

Role Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver tailored instruction for middle and high school special education students
  • Create supportive, structured classroom environments promoting both academic and social/emotional growth
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including related service providers and district partners
  • Track and report student progress; participate in IEP meetings
  • Support transition planning for older students, focusing on post-secondary readiness and life skills
  • Communicate regularly with families, fostering engagement and partnership
