Full-Time Special Education Teacher

A great school district in the Peoria, IL area is now looking to hire a Special Education Teacher for a current, full-time opening. Previous experience working with children with special needs is desired, but not required for this school-based position. Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs.
• Provide specialized instruction and accommodations to support students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral growth.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to ensure student success.
• Assess student progress and maintain accurate documentation of goals, services, and outcomes.
• Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet individual student needs.
• Work with students across elementary, middle, or high school grade levels based on district needs.

Experience:

• Previous experience in a school setting or working with children with disabilities preferred.
• Knowledge of IEP development, behavior management strategies, and differentiated instruction is a plus.
• Education:
• Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or related field required.
• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Special Education endorsement required.
• Licensing assistance may be available for qualified out-of-state candidates.

Employment Type: Full-Time, Contract

Work Hours: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM, 37.5 hours per week

Compensation: $32- $50 per hour. Weekly pay and benefits available for eligible employees.
