Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility for certification)
- Experience or strong interest in working with children from preschool through 5th grade
- Knowledge of early childhood education best practices and interventions
- Understanding of child find processes, assessments, and IDEA regulations
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with families, colleagues, and service providers
- Ability to develop and implement effective Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver individualized instruction for students with diverse learning needs within the early childhood and elementary spectrum
- Conduct and participate in assessments to identify student needs and progress, supporting the child find process
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to implement accommodations and modifications in the classroom
- Develop, review, and update IEPs in partnership with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Foster a supportive, structured, and engaging classroom environment that promotes student growth and success
