Special Education Teacher in Peralta, NM

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility for certification)
• Experience or strong interest in working with children from preschool through 5th grade
• Knowledge of early childhood education best practices and interventions
• Understanding of child find processes, assessments, and IDEA regulations
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with families, colleagues, and service providers
• Ability to develop and implement effective Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)

Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver individualized instruction for students with diverse learning needs within the early childhood and elementary spectrum
• Conduct and participate in assessments to identify student needs and progress, supporting the child find process
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to implement accommodations and modifications in the classroom
• Develop, review, and update IEPs in partnership with families and multidisciplinary teams
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations
