Step into a dynamic contract position shaping the educational experience for upper school students in the North Austin area. Lead a manageable caseload of 25–30 students in grades 6–12, focusing on Integrated Humanities/English Language Arts and Social/Life Skills within an inclusive Resource setting. The spacious classroom is partitioned, with paraprofessionals supporting student transitions and classroom management.
Your day will run from 7:30/7:45 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, allowing you to work closely with colleagues in a supportive environment. Curriculum materials are thoughtfully provided, and you’ll benefit from a weekly collaborative planning session in addition to your regular planning time.
This setting offers minimal direct Life Skills instruction, with only three students in those periods, and a block to support all teachers in the classroom. One 9th grader requiring mathematics at a 3rd-grade level will be present for much of the day, and the resourceful team environment ensures that everyone has help when needed.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Texas Department of Education license in Special Education and Generalist/Core 6-12.
- Experience with Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings, with comfort in active participation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted instruction in Humanities/ELA and Social/Life Skills.
- Collaborate in a team-teaching and planning environment.
