Make a meaningful impact in the life of a medically fragile middle school student by providing in-home services as a bilingual (Spanish/English) Special Education Teacher. Situated just 15 minutes west of Philadelphia, this ongoing contract opportunity is perfect for a compassionate educator seeking a part-time, flexible schedule with the potential to increase hours as the student’s needs evolve. You’ll be part of a small, collaborative team working directly with one student who is bed-bound and cannot participate in virtual instruction. Consistency and reliability are key, as the position is intended to support the student and family through the end of the 2027 school year—and possibly longer if it’s the right fit.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) communication skills preferred, but experienced non-bilingual candidates are also encouraged to apply
- Experience supporting medically fragile or bed-bound children is highly valued
- Strong interpersonal skills, with sensitivity to the needs of students and families from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to collaborate effectively with SLPs, OTs, and PTs
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized instruction and support to one middle school student for 2.5 hours per week to start, with the likelihood of expanding hours over time
- Develop and deliver exceptional, accessible lesson plans tailored to the student’s learning style and medical needs
- Communicate regularly with the family to ensure clarity and partnership in the student’s educational progress
- Coordinate with other service providers (OT, PT, SLP) for holistic care and goal-setting
- Maintain accurate records and follow district protocols
For those looking to build a deep, positive relationship with a student and their family, while enjoying a steady, long-term assignment, this is a wonderful opportunity. Take the next step in your teaching career and apply today to make a lasting difference!
