Conveniently located minutes from Philadelphia, this position requires an onsite presence to work directly with the student who cannot participate in virtual instruction.
The primary focus will be delivering individualized instruction, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, and building rapport with both the student and their Spanish-speaking family. A strong commitment to consistency and long-term engagement is highly valued, as the district is seeking an educator who can commit through the end of the 2027 school year or beyond.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English strongly preferred
- Experience working with medically fragile or bed-bound students is a plus
- Ability to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking parents
- Commitment to working a minimum schedule of 2.5 hours per week, with potential for increased hours
- Flexibility to start ASAP or at the start of the new school year
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct special education instruction to a middle school student in a home-based setting
- Collaborate with SLP, OT, and PT professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Develop and implement individualized education plans tailored to the student’s medical and academic needs
- Serve as a communication bridge between the IEP team and the student’s family
