Make a meaningful impact in the lives of young learners as a Special Education Teacher working with Grades 4 and 5 students in an Emotional Support setting. This rewarding contract opportunity offers the chance to guide, support, and empower a caseload of 12 remarkable students between the ages of 9 and 11 within a dedicated school community just outside Philadelphia, PA.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience partnering with students requiring Emotional Support services, preferably within the intermediate grades
- Knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, and effective data-driven instruction
- Strong classroom management techniques tailored to students with behavioral and emotional needs
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with parents, colleagues, and support staff
- Passion for fostering resilience, growth, and self-advocacy in students
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction aligned with IEP goals and students' individual needs
- Develop and implement effective classroom routines and behavioral interventions
- Regularly evaluate student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Document and communicate student growth, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams
- Participate in professional development, team meetings, and required trainings (training starts August 17, 2026; students begin August 24, 2026)
- Maintain a positive, structured, and supportive classroom climate from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm each school day
