Discover an exciting contract opportunity for experienced Special Education Teachers seeking a full-time, impactful position in a supportive educational environment. Multiple openings are available for the upcoming academic year, with four positions in elementary classrooms and one in a middle school setting. This is a 35-hour-per-week onsite role beginning August 24, 2026, and concluding June 10, 2027.
This position places a high value on passionate educators who demonstrate expertise in their subject areas and possess strong instructional skills. You'll craft engaging, differentiated lesson plans aligned with state and district guidelines, utilizing formative assessments to guide your teaching. Candidates must be able to manage classrooms confidently and maintain a positive, productive atmosphere.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Holds active certification/license appropriate for the caseload;
- Bachelor’s degree required to secure an emergency teaching permit;
- Previous experience in a school setting, preferably within an urban environment;
- Mastery of classroom and behavioral management strategies;
- Reliable transportation;
- Willingness and ability to work onsite between 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM (no schedule accommodations);
- Comfortable working within district guidelines and at the assigned location;
- Ability to complete all Pennsylvania clearances as required;
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement lesson plans focused on state and district standards;
- Differentiate instruction to address diverse student needs;
- Foster a safe and engaging classroom environment;
- Employ effective classroom management techniques;
- Communicate proactively with students, families, and colleagues;
- Collaborate with support staff and administration.
