Special Education Teacher - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Take your expertise as a Special Education Teacher to the next level by supporting students in a dynamic, urban setting in the Philadelphia area. We are seeking passionate, adaptable professionals for four full-time contract positions commencing August 24, 2026, through June 10, 2027. These openings include one middle school role and three high school roles, with distinct focuses in Science, Math, and Social Studies. All assignments are onsite and require a consistent weekly schedule of 35 hours.

Qualifications:

• State-required certification or licensure for assigned caseload is mandatory
• Bachelor’s degree (minimum qualification for an emergency teaching permit)
• Previous experience within K-12 school environments, particularly in urban districts
• Skilled in classroom management and positive behavioral interventions
• Demonstrated subject mastery and the ability to create effective, standards-aligned lesson plans
• Reliable transportation to and from the work site
• Availability to work between 8:30AM-4PM, 8AM-3:15PM (middle school) or 7:15AM-2:45PM (high school)
• Ability to complete all mandatory PA clearances
• Comfortable with the specific needs and environment of an urban district

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate engaging instruction for students with diverse needs in your subject area
• Design, implement, and adapt curriculum and differentiated lesson plans to meet state/district standards
• Apply strong classroom and behavioral management skills to foster an effective learning environment
• Collaborate with support staff, families, and administration for optimal student outcomes
• Maintain compliance with all documentation and reporting requirements
