Special Education Teacher in Philadelphia, PA

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners by providing dedicated support as a Special Education Teacher for elementary students (K-2) onsite at a school near Philadelphia, PA. This full-time opportunity features two open positions on a contract basis, starting as soon as possible and continuing through June 10, 2027. You will play a key role in fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment while applying your expertise to meet the needs of students requiring specialized instruction.

What We’re Looking For:

• Active certification or licensure valid for managing a Special Education caseload
• Bachelor’s degree required for the emergency teaching permit
• Prior experience working in school settings
• Demonstrated mastery of instructional strategies and subject matter
• Strong classroom and behavioral management abilities, particularly in urban environments
• Skilled in lesson planning aligned with state and district standards
• Ability to differentiate instruction and utilize formative assessments
• Comfort with the unique challenges of working in an urban district
• Able to work onsite full-time between the hours of 8:30AM–4PM (no schedule accommodations can be made)
• Capability to complete all Pennsylvania clearances
• Reliable transportation for daily onsite commitment
• Willingness to participate in a Zoom interview

What You’ll Do:

• Deliver direct instruction to K-2 students with special needs
• Develop and implement individualized lesson plans
• Use diverse teaching approaches tailored to students’ learning styles
• Track and assess student progress, adjusting methods as needed
• Collaborate with fellow teachers, support staff, and families
• Maintain a positive, structured classroom environment
