Special Education Teacher – School-Based

Location: Philadelphia, PA and surrounding areas
Schedule: Full-time (37.5 hours a week)
Position Type: School-based contract for NSY

We are seeking Special Education Teachers for a several different schools in the Philadelphia and surrounding areas. This role will support students with diverse learning needs by providing specialized instruction, IEP services, accommodations, and classroom support.

The teacher will work closely with students, families, general education teachers, related service providers, and school leadership to help students access the curriculum and make meaningful progress toward their academic, behavioral, and social-emotional goals.

Requirements:
Candidates must hold an active Pennsylvania Special Education teaching certification. (preferred Instruction I or II certifications)
School-based experience is preferred.
Experience supporting IEPs, progress monitoring, and classroom accommodations is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction based on student IEP goals and service minutes.
Develop, implement, and support individualized education plans.
Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
Modify lessons, materials, and assessments to meet student needs.
Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, families, and school teams.
Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, and other required school meetings.
Support academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth in the classroom.
Maintain compliance with district, state, and special education requirements.
