8th Grade ELA (English Language Arts) Teacher – Philadelphia, PA

Position Overview
Soliant Education is seeking an experienced 8th Grade ELA Teacher for an onsite education industry position in Philadelphia, PA, for the 2026–2027 school year. This is a full-time contract opportunity serving middle school students in an 8th grade English Language Arts setting. The assignment runs from August 24, 2026, through June 10, 2027, with a consistent Monday through Friday schedule.

Schedule and Assignment Details
The position is scheduled for 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 7:50 AM to 3:50 PM, with a 30-minute lunch break. The selected teacher will provide classroom instruction throughout the 26’27 school year while supporting students’ academic development and preparations for high school. This role requires an onsite presence within the Philadelphia school district. Pay Range: $35-$45 per hour 

Responsibilities
The teacher will develop and deliver engaging English Language Arts lessons aligned with grade-level standards and curriculum expectations. Responsibilities include teaching reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, literature, and related language skills while adapting instruction to meet varying student needs. The selected candidate will assess student progress, maintain appropriate classroom documentation, communicate with school staff and families as needed, and contribute to a positive learning environment.

Requirements
A Pennsylvania Instructional I or Instructional II certification with an ELA qualification appropriate for 8th grade is preferred. Candidates with an active out-of-state credential or emergency certification may also be considered, provided they have at least 1–2 years of experience teaching ELA at the 8th grade level. Strong classroom management skills, effective communication, and the ability to collaborate with school personnel are also expected.

Contract and Benefits
This is a 26’27 school year contract position through Soliant Education. Eligible contractors receive health, dental, and vision insurance options, along with a 401(k) plan and weekly pay. Compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, education, certification, and other applicable qualifications.
