This contract role is ideal for passionate Special Education Teachers excited to work with diverse learners and make a tangible difference. Immediate needs exist for educators with experience in inclusion, SUCCESS, practical, CBT (life skills/transition/functional academics), and STRIVE (self-contained, intensive support) programs. Candidates must be within a 30-minute commute to schools such as Fairfax, Central, and Hayden.

What you bring:

  • Valid Arizona Secondary Teaching License
  • Current K-12 Special Education Certification
  • IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Previous experience with students diagnosed with emotional disabilities, autism, or other exceptionalities
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans and services in accordance with federal, state, and district policies
  • Understanding of student needs across at-risk, ethnic, limited English proficient, and exceptional populations
  • Familiarity with prosocial and self-regulation strategies for students
  • Willingness to participate in Essential Elements of Effective Instruction (E.E.E.I.) training or ongoing staff development
  • Availability full-time onsite for the contract duration (July – May each year through 2027)
  • Flexibility to work within various classroom settings including inclusion, life skills/transition, and structured behavior support

Your day-to-day:

  • Guide, instruct, and empower students in a supportive classroom atmosphere
  • Collaborate with educational professionals to develop and deliver effective educational programs
  • Document progress and adjust interventions to meet changing student needs
  • Foster an inclusive environment for all learners
  • Engage in ongoing professional growth and training
