Special Education Teacher - Phoenix, Arizona

Multiple contract positions are available for dedicated special education professionals, with an emphasis on life skills, transition programs, and structured intensive support classrooms. These full-time roles require onsite presence and are positioned in high-priority schools across the district, all within a 30-minute commute of Fairfax, Central, and Hayden campuses.

Your background in providing specialized instruction will be instrumental in classrooms focused on Inclusion/SUCCESS, Practical, CBT (life skills/transition/functional academics), and STRIVE (self-contained behavioral, autism, and structured support environments). We’re seeking educators who possess a deep understanding of students with emotional disabilities, diverse eligibility areas, and those building prosocial and self-regulation skills.

Qualifications:

• Valid AZ Secondary Teaching License
• Active K-12 Special Education Certificate
• Current IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Familiarity with federal, state, and district policies surrounding special education
• Prior experience with students considered at-risk, limited English proficiency, or exceptional educational needs
• E.E.E.I. training, or willingness to attend scheduled staff development
• Experience implementing and documenting special education services and compliance paperwork
• Strong adaptability for multiple school settings and a variety of caseloads

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver individualized instruction for caseloads ranging from 6-25 students, depending on classroom assignment
• Support student development in life skills, social-emotional learning, and functional academics
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Create a safe, structured, and supportive classroom community
• Engage in ongoing professional development and team collaboration
