Special Education Teacher - Pickerington, OH

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid, active Ohio certificate/license: Education of the Handicapped K-12 or Intervention Specialist K-12 (Moderate/Intensive or Mild/Moderate)
• Previous experience supporting students with multiple disabilities, and working within diverse communities and with multidisciplinary staff teams
• Proficiency writing, accessing, and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Comfortable working in resource rooms, small group tutoring, and inclusive classroom settings
• Strong communication, adaptability, and collaboration skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and teach kindergarten-aged students with special needs, tailoring instruction to individual learning goals and social-emotional development
• Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and family members to ensure students thrive academically and personally
• Write and monitor IEPs in compliance with state and federal guidelines
• Create a welcoming and structured classroom environment that fosters participation, growth, and confidence for every student
