Key Qualifications:
- Valid Moderate/Severe credential OR Extensive Support Needs credential (California)
- Knowledge of best practices in special education, including IEP development and implementation
- Strong teamwork and communication skills for collaboration with staff, families, and related service providers
- Dedication to creating a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom atmosphere
- Ability to adapt curriculum and instructional methods to meet diverse learning needs
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Create a positive, structured learning environment tailored to students with moderate/severe needs
- Collaborate with fellow educators, specialists, and families to maximize student progress
- Adapt lesson plans and materials to provide differentiated instruction
- Assess student growth and maintain accurate, timely records of performance and progress
